What Top Cat Choice is, who is behind it and how every guide is built.
What Top Cat Choice is
Top Cat Choice is an independent editorial site addressed to cat owners in the United States. We publish guides on breeds, health, nutrition, behavior, training, products and US regulation. Our goal is that anyone can make well-founded decisions about caring for their cat without getting lost in forums, unsigned threads or copy-pasted articles.
How we write our guides
- Verifiable sources. We cite legislation (federal and state where applicable), veterinary literature published by professional societies (AVMA, AAHA, AVSAB), manufacturer data sheets and peer-reviewed studies when available.
- Technical review. Health and behavior content is reviewed by collaborators with veterinary or ethology training before publication.
- Updates. We revisit articles when regulation changes or new clinical consensus appears. Each guide indicates the date of its last review.
- Editorial / commercial separation. Advertising and affiliate content is identified as such. The editorial choice of what to cover and how does not depend on advertisers.
Independence and affiliate links
This site is funded by advertising (Google AdSense) and by affiliate links (Amazon Associates Program). When you buy through one of our links we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. These commercial relationships do not condition the recommendations or product rankings. If a brand appears recommended in a guide it is because it meets the technical criteria we describe in that guide, not because it pays to be there.
What we are not
We are not a veterinary clinic, we do not provide training services and we do not sell our own products. Health and nutrition information is educational and does not replace diagnosis or treatment from a licensed veterinarian. For any specific issue with your cat, always consult a professional.
Errors and suggestions
If you spot an error, an outdated source or want to suggest a topic, please use our contact form. We review every notice and correct as soon as possible.
